Mobilities are one part of the project activities. Within two years of our cooperation, we’ve planned six meetings, each of them in the partner institution of a different country. Visiting partners in their countries is a great example of what opportunities are created for Europe citizens thanks to Comenius project. Moving to other countries, we - the project participants come back with a bag full of experience. Each time, apart from the knowledge we gain in teaching matters and new subjects, in better organizational skills and intercultural understanding, our command of English and other languages improves and we get the deeper insight into the host country.
The calendar of the mobilities:
November, 2013 - Porto, Portugal
February, 2014 - Iglesias, Italy
March, 2014 - Targovisthe, Bulgaria
October, 2014 - Białystok, Poland
March, 2015 - San Martin Valdeiglesias, Spain
June, 2015 - Kaufbeuren, Germany
First mobility - Portugal
From 17th till 23rd November, 2013 thanks to Comenius programme we were working on the project: "Europe Through Our Eyes" in Portugal. We were pleased to meet for the first time students from Poland, Portugal, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain and Italy.
Every morning we attended workshops connected with our project during which we learned a lot about recycling. What is more, we had an opportunity to carry out the unusual experiments and as a whole group we were working on a logo to our project. We found it really pleasant to take part in a lesson of Portuguese and in a sports competition in a school gym. Since lunches were served at school, we got to know something about traditional Portuguese.
The evenings were dedicated to activities in school in Gondomar connected with presenting some elements of our culture and traditions. The aim of one of them was to show traditional dances and each country did their best. The following evening was supposed to teach the participants something about music and songs from different countries. It is worth noticing that the audience was spontaneous and the people were eager to take part in the show.
In our opinion, visiting Porto was a great experience. Thanks to it, we could learn about customs and traditions from many parts of Europe. In addition, we met a lot of new friends.
Second mobility - Italy
Our second mobility began on 9th February and ended on 15th 2014 in a small town- Iglesias, Sardinia. The participants met in a Municipality Hall, then after a really nice welcoming we headed for sightseeing. We were walking through the beautiful historic town of Iglesias for hours .Then we went to school where we tried really delicious Italian dishes. We also visited the Mining Museum of Iglesias, the underground caves, Antas Temple, Water Windmill and “su mannau” cave.
We also cooked and prepared our traditional dishes, which were delicious. Everybody could try and enjoy them. We learned how to make coffee. All of us had a chance to make an espresso and a nice cup of cappuccino.
We also had an Italian lesson on which we sang beautiful Italian songs and had lots of fun! The most breathtaking thing of the trip was the sea. We were really amazed by it. We had lunch in a local farmhouse by the sea and then we visited the town of Buggeru.
The last day of our mobility, we spent in the capital city of Sardinia – Cagliari. We saw: the Elephant Tower, the Cathedral and The National Archeological Museum. We walked along busy streets and bought souvenirs. There was a farewell dinner with all participants and teachers. The last night was crazy! Most of us were partying the whole night in a local club enjoying the last minutes together.
The week in Sardinia passed very quickly. With sorrow and tears we left our new international friends and this beautiful historic town. We will never forget what we experienced there and we can’t wait to meet again.
Third mobility - Bulgaria
We were in Bulgaria from March 23rd. First of all, we met a lot of amazing people with whom we still keep in touch. We explored their culture: tasty food, interesting history, music and traditional dances.
We had an opportunity to do it during one week full of various activities.
While staying in Bulgaria, we walked around Targovishte, visited a dairy factory, where we could see how to make cheese and we wore funny protective clothes. We went to Monastery, Balchik Botanical gardens and Varna. We could see the Black Sea and many beautiful views. The project group spent one day in Veliko Tarnovo - a very beautiful city with an old town in the mountains . On many old buildings we could see creative graffiti. We took lots of pictures of breathtaking landscapes, medieval architecture and some nice murals in the newer part of the city.
One thing we liked a lot were the evenings we spent together with all students not only from Bulgaria but also Portugal, Italy, Germany, Poland and Spain, having fun and getting to know each other. After all these great days, it was really hard to say goodbye during a formal dinner full of dancing, eating and finally hugs and tears. That week was full of cultural and linguistic experiences.

Jaime's speech - one of the Portuguese teachers

Dear Friends,
I will address you as if I was telling a little story. Once upon a time there was a Greek philosopher called Aristotle, who said in one of his most important works, that no man is able to be happy alone. If any man could be happy alone, he would be either God or a Beast. So, he said that we were condemned to be with the others, because happiness can only be built with everybody. That man didn’t know the Comenius project, he lived in another time and another place, but probably, he had a vision of what could happen many centuries later. The days we all spent in San Martin confirm the words of Aristotle. Tomaso Campanella created in one of his works, the city of the sun, but for us, we will always remember San Martin as the city of affection, the city of friendship offered by teachers, students and the families. The city where we were happy with each other and each one of us with everybody else. If the hearts came empty or hoping for something, here in san Martin we found the fuel that full filled our hearts. Here in San Martin we accomplished the wish of Aristotle. The end of this story is the one I told you before. Here, Aristotle’s happiness was accomplished, because the principle of Comenius is to unite everyone. Thank you all for this great week. |
Sixth mobility - Germany
We had an opportunity to take part in Comenius project on 07.06.2015-13.06.2015. A very fruitful international exchange to Germany appeared to be the last point of all the mobilities. We could learn the culture and customs of people living there as well as taste delicious Bavarian traditional cuisine. Kaufbeuren students along with the teachers welcomed us really warm. We had many incredible activities prepared such as: language workshops, performances, a town game and hip-hop dance steps.
Our group got well integrated after the common lesson of creating graffiti art. There were also other great attractions like sightseeing Munich's Allianz Arena or visiting the most fabulous castle ever built - Neuschwanstein. The last two days of our trip meant a lot, too. We stayed in the spectacular youth hostel in the Alps. We had a bonfire by which we could present and sing our national songs. There was a farewell party during the last day of our stay. We had a pleasure to watch Xaver' s performance and his band The Blue Cat. Thanks to this trip we could develop our language skills and meet new friends with whom we hope to keep in touch forever. |
